Brian Glotzbach

           Brian Glotzbach (MS, LMT) approaches his therapy with the unique mindset of an engineer and educator whose keen understanding of sports injury was honed in graduate school. As a sought after instructor who has worked with professional athletes for over 15 years, Brian believes that to teach at an elite level and successfully treat clients with a diverse range of injuries, a practitioner must be well-versed in his subject and think outside the box.
Brian has an exceptionally clear understanding of both the mechanism of injury in sports and the evaluation, rehabilitation and treatment protocol for injury prevention and return to play following an injury. Brian spends a great deal of clinical time, at Body Mechanics year ‘round, working with NFL, MLB and NBA players from teams all over the U.S.. Brian has also been traveling with professional athletes throughout the U.S. as an injury consultant since 2000. These travels have taken him to Super Bowls in 2005 (Jacksonville w/Eagles) and 2006 (Detroit w/ Steelers). He has been on the massage therapy staff of the Atlanta Falcons since 1997, including another Super Bowl in 1999 and the staff in the Atlanta Hawks training room since 2002. Brian was the staff massage therapist in the Atlanta Braves training room for three seasons, 1999-2001, including the World Series in 1999 and the playoffs in 2000 and 2001. Supervisory positions include, massage therapy services for the U.S. Track and Field Trials in 1996, selection by the medical staff of ACOG to oversee massage therapy in the Sports Medicine Clinic, the rehabilitation clinic within Olympic Village for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He was also a supervisor of massage therapy on the sports medicine staff for the Paralympics Games in Atlanta in 1996.

            A few of Brian’s teaching accolades include lecturing internationally.  He was chosen as the only presenter from the United States to lecture at a massage symposium in Barcelona Spain in December 1996. Attendees included 1200 massage therapists throughout Europe. In addition he was invited to be a guest presenter at the National Sports Massage conference in New Zealand in 1998. Brian has taught orthopedic assessment with OMERI to massage therapists throughout the U.S. In 1997 and 1998 he taught a 100-hour massage training course to the Sports Medicine Staff (a group of high profile athletic trainers and physical therapists) at the University of Georgia. Brian was a senior instructor in the Clinical Massage Program at the Atlanta School of Massage in Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently an instructor at the Body Wisdom Massage Therapy School in Urbandale, Iowa.
Brian’s received his massage training at the Atlanta School of Massage. His education at the university level includes a Masters degree in Sports Medicine “Athletic Training” from Georgia State University and a BS degree in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University. Before his involvement with massage therapy, he worked for ten years as a consulting engineer. Brian is a co-founder of Body Mechanics Sports Massage Therapy in Atlanta where he specializes in assessing and treating specific injuries and improving athletic performance. One of his aspirations for the next few years is to complete a Ph.D. in Biomechanics.
